Need to know what's a good octane booster, and where to get it? I think I have some pinging going on.

 

I'd recommend a reburn on your chip. Octane boosters don't work very well, they raise the octane a few tenths of a point. A mixture of race gas is your only other alternative.

 

Try Torco Accelerator...it's a race gas concentrate and I run it all the time. I also used it in a friend's truck that we put a 4 lb. lower and a chip on and it cured the pinging immediately wven with Phoenix's crappy 91 octane gas. The only downside is it turns the plugs orange, so it's hard to get a good plug reading and you may have to change your fuel filter a little more often.

I'll second that. Torco is the way to go.
1/4 tank of gas and 32oz of Torco should put you
in the 100+ octain range. That's right where you want
to be if you're running a race program on your chip.

 

Octane boosters leave a film or coating on the plug. I used it one time and the plugs turned purple. Id say reburn or youll be changing the plugs which sucks a big one.

 

Torco will do this, but it doesn't affect performance.
Running high octane in performace mode just makes
your 1/8 & 1/4 mile runs more safe.
