new headlight bulbs -> burned wire, corroded conector?

I added some cheap (read E-bay $9.99) Xenon 120watt headight bulbs. i knew they were cheap, but for $10/pair it's hard to go wrong, or so I thought. Well one exploded and now my headlight is covered in a chalk type substance that will not come out.
The other light was dimming. So I figured it was ready to pop, so i removed it.
I looked at the connector that the headlight bulb plugs into and it was very very corroded. So I took a small file and cleaned off the connectors, sprayed a little white lithium grease, and put the stock light back in. well I started it again (it's in storage) and the light was dim again. I pull the bulb and the corrosion was back. I was shocked, becuase I used the same grease as on the batery posts for years without corrosion.

So could the high watt bulb (120watt) which draws a LOT more than the stock (80watt I think) corroded the connector? and burned the insulation off one of the wires at the connector?

The Xenon bulbs are 100watt (low beam)/ 120 watt (hi-beam)

BTW: I use my Hi-Beams almost all the time.

do you ever hold flash to pass for long periods? I bought the same bulbs and everytime i went down the hill from my parents house (windy road, zero lighting, dogs and horses on occasion) i would hold flash to pass all the way down for about 3 minutes just to see better. Apparently that heats up the connecter really quick and i had major corrosion. I replaced both connectors for about 30 bucks i think plus the cost for some wire nuts.

I had some Korean 100/80W bulbs in mine that fried the wiring harness pigtails. Murray's carries them for $3.99 each. Probably at Autozone and Pep Boy too. If you wanna run bulbs that pull that much juice, you are either gonna burn stuff up or buy a high wattage wiring harness.

The Sylvania SilverStars are much better than stock at close to the stock wattage and they last longer. They don't burn anything up either.

I'll let RP mention the Zenarcs.

The pigtails for 9004 and 9007 are the same. The ones I bought said 9004 on the front of the box and on the back it said fits 9007 too.
