What are the benefits if any, of the JLP Ram air to the cold air intake? Also if I get the ram air do i have to get chip reprogramed? Thanks Dennis

The JLP, and PSP Ram Air set ups are the only real cold air kits for the Lightning. The open Filter under the hood is exposed to the engine heat alot more than the filter when its in that JLP(psp) box drawing fresh cold air from under the front bumper. The Ram Air was my first mod, and I could definetly tell a difference in breathing and some power. I got the JLP setup, and couldnt be happier. The other great side effext of the setup, is the Whine on the supercharger is gonna be ALOT louder. Hope I helped a lil and Im sure some other guys with the systems will chime in too.

And no with just the Ram Air you dont need a chip burned.

I forgot that question was there too, but I realized and made an edit. No you dont need a chip program for it unless you already have some mods. if you already have like a chip, pulley and things like that then I would contact JLP and ask him if your gonna need a reburn for adding it, I dont think you will but its better to be safe than sorry.

Another mod that is well worth the $$ IMO. I have the PSP FastAir system and it makes all the difference in the world. The last time I was at the track I hot lapped about 5 times in a row and when I took a break the upper plenum was cold to the touch.....that's a true cold air intake IMO. Before I had PSP's set up, the plenum would be pretty warm after only one pass at the track. As far as the chip needing to be reprogrammed, let your tuner make that call. Like Blown5Pnt4 said, the blower whine will be louder and IMO it spools up quicker. Also according to the boost gauge I picked up about 2lbs of boost. Hope this helps and good luck with whatever you decide to do.
