Automotive Creeper for L use

Well, my 17 yo backed over and smashed (fortunately I was not on it.. ho, ho, ho) a wooden mechanics creeper I have had for 30+ years.. good riddins the thing was a piece of chitt and the wheels were tiny and always hangin up on garage grates, etc.... 8-)
Anyway, I need a new one. Could you guys give me your opinions/recommendations on style, brand, best for the $, where to buy in regard to a new creeper. I have been leaning toward the dog bone style with oversized wheels but then have noticed the board types with tool trays on the sides. Come on please tell me about your favorite that you use with your L. Thanks in advance!

I've been there, done that, with a wood one. I cussed that thing more times than I can remember. I put my knee through the center when climbing aboard once. I had to use it for months after that. I had wood splinters, you know where.

I bought a used Snap-On creeper from eBay. While waiting for its arrrival, I bought a nice blue one from Napa. It has good wheels and bearings.

I really like them both. The Snap-On has the tilting headrest, and it is the lower, drop frame model.

The only thing I do on them now is.........run over my t-shirt, and get it wrapped around a wheel. It puts nice dirt, or grease marks on shirts when doing this.

Neither one has tool trays on them..........I'd still misplace tools if they did. LOL

At http://www.speedwaymotors.com it is part # 91081901 or just type in creeper in their search engine. $32.95 plus approx. $10.31 shipping.

They state "Ultra Low Plastic Wheel Creeper.
The lowest of the low allows you to roll under your car comfortably"

Cool, I am going to have to order me one also. I lost another wheel on mine yesterday, 6 wheeled creeper now down to 4. If I loose another wheel I wont be creeping very well.

LMAO

Hey, I'm doing the same thing now. They work........you just can't roll around. You can lay there......you just can't do any creepin.

Before we moved last Feb., I was spoiled and had my 40x50 shop, and all concrete.

We'll build a garage here someday. Hey..........we should check into some pnuematic tired creepers?

Well, the creeper arrived yesterday and I bolted on the casters/wheels. The creeper is well made, very durable (blow molded) and the casters/wheels are very decent. The wheels themselves are hard plastic with a rubberized material tread. It looks exactly as in the pic I have shown and in my opinion well worth the $.

The creeper looks like it will hold up very well. It rolls very easily with my 215# on it. 8-)

I use a creeper thats older then me. Most of the time I just move around on back, that way I have more room.
