Straight Pipes on an L?

I remember reading that cyntaxx did this. Has anyone else? I havent seen him around the forum for a while. Is there any loss/gain in HP or Torque? How's it sound on a Lightning? I've loved the sound on every car that I've heard it on. It is very cheap as all. Thanks

Got it done on mine a couple weeks ago. It is very loud and sounds nice but it gets old quick. For me at least it did with as much driving as I do. I am actually installing the stock cat-back again for my previous Magnaflows before the straight pipes sounded too glass packish' and popped too much for my taste. I really do not like the Bassani sound so I'm done messing with the exhaust till I find a used Borla cat-back.

I am pretty sure there is no power gains. If anything you will lose low end.

Go ahead and do it if you know you like loud.

i've ran open headers and headers with hi flows and straight pipes and they were both loud the open headers sounded cool but not feasible at all. open pipes with highflows sound ok at idle and sound like **** at WOT. i ended up with bassani catback, LTs, and hiflows

I installed mine a little while ago and I think that they sound pretty good, but I'm only 19 and the louder the better. I'm just running stock manifolds and stock cats so the sound at idle is minimal, but WOT I think sounds awsome. Cab sound at around 2,000rpms is a little annoying so I don't take to many long highway trip. It only cost me aroung $30 to do, so I'd say just try it and if you don't like it just put the stock muffler back on until you decide what cat-back you like. Hope this helped.
