New Ford Lightning Vs LT1 Trans Am

I was driving home yesterday after fixing my starter. My friend with my same setup + a mail order tune ran 13.4@104 at the track the same night. I was not expecting any action being that no one has even bothered to run my car while its been open header since it sounds like a beast. I'm doing a cool 5 over the speed limit when I notice a Ford lightning come up along side me. I droped it into second @ 50 mph and jumped about half a car in front of him just to see if I could get him interested. as I slowed back down next to him he returned the favor.

Then... stoplight

He was on the left and I was on the right. The light went green and I left some rubber behind with my crappy tires, got slightly sideways, but none the less we were still door to door. Then I caught traction after feathering the gas. I slowly began to pull on him. Went smoothly up to about 80-85, by that time he was at my rear bumper and we were approaching a car in traffic so we let off.

I couldn't believe it, I actually beat a Lightning. I had my camera in the passenger seat too, I should have snaped a shot of him. I rolled down the window and gave him a thumb's up. I'm headed to the track tomorrow night. Does anyone have an idea what lightning's run stock? I have no idea what mods, if any, that guy had. I'm just happy I edged him. I'm just glad someone had the ***** to run my car. Y-pipe is on back order until after Christmas, then I should have a fairly quiet car again.

I dont know who you are but the picture u posted is my lightning and it has not been out of my garage in three days so i doubt very much u beat me in a race yesterday as i think i would have remembered.

This guy should be a lawyer because he has made this far more confusing then it has to be.

Anyway, what he is basically saying (what i assume anyway) is he was on some other forum, saw a kill story of somebody beating a lightning, read it, then saw a pic of the supposedly beaten lightning and realize it was his truck and now he's just saying how can it be his lightning, I believe.

Or maybe he was high when he wrote this. I dont know.
