Just wanted to drop a note to all and say wazzz uppp. I am the proud owner of a 2003 Lightning. I have been reading the Lightning Forums page for the past week and just had to join. I'm amazed / pleased to see the level of comrodery amungst SVT owners accross the country. I'm on my second SVT (first was a '98 Cobra) and this forum is more than I ever expected. I'm an Internet Manager for my local Ford dealer and we have the SVT franchise. So I litterally live, eat, and breath this stuff. In one year I have sold more SVT product than all but one person at my dealership. The guy I'm chasing is the Fleet Manager and he's been there 10 Years. It's because of people like you that I love being associated with the SVT name. I paid for my truck with no re-imbursement from the dealership. I look forward to many happy hours in this forum, and hope to meet as many of you as possible. Almost had a tear come to my eye. This is great

Man, you had a '98 cobra just like I did, (mine was a triple black leather 'vert) and you just got an '03 L in the exact color I want! Can I maybe take you to Southridge G.C. up in the Buttes when I'm ready to buy so that we can "talk things over" about me getting an '04 L? I LOVE that course!

I bought my '98 Cobra from Hoblit motors over in Colusa - perhaps you've heard of them? I got a great deal on it (It had 7900 miles when I bought it in August '99, practically brand new, and got a GREAT price). I'm down in Sacramento, and the SVT dealerships around here are pretty crappy. Senator Ford wouldn't give me the time of day when I was looking for my Cobra, Future Ford was very unknowledgeable about SVT vehicles in general when I called them, plus I've heard bad things about their service department, and Suburban Ford didn't give me much help either.

Either way, I'm a newbie here myself, but welcome to the board! I'm sure I'll be using you as a resource from time to time if you don't mind!

I may be able to hook you up. It's kind of hard to tell since SVT just sent me a notification that there will be no 2005 SVT products at all. This is the last year for the SVT Focus, and we wont see a Lightning or Cobra until we get the new body styles for each. I just placed a sold order for $1,000.00 below MSRP, which as you know is really low for our area. I know all the dealers you mentioned, and for them it's all about the profit. Welcome aboard. It's nice to have a legit SVT salesman in this forum. We had a previous member who claimed he was an SVT Salesman (coincidentally had the forum name of SVT_Salesman) but in reality was a member called Bluelightning. Congrats on your purchase.
