Cold weather stutter...

I'm trying to figure out if I have a bad sensor or what.

Whenever the temperature is below 40F, without any guarenteed repeatability, my truck will stumble a bit at WOT in 3rd or 4th gear.

It does not do it in first and as far as I can notice 2nd.... I cannot repeat it perfectly, sometimes it does it, sometimes it doesn't. It ONLY does it when it is cold out, never had it happen when its warmer.

Any ideas? Tranny problem? Bad ACT sensor? Input needed.

Daniel

Pawn, if you are moded it might be signs of detenation. Have your tunner make you a winter tune. I think JDM is adj. for winter for free or little cost if you have one of their chips.

No Dan is moded for the squiggly's, not the 1320
(Although I've had the pleasures of seeing him do that too)

Any chance it could be plugs Dan ?
Fuel Filter ?

Of course it could be a sensor like you mentioned ?

If your due, I would def start with some good Injector Cleaner,
some Ultra 94, and a new Fuel Filter first.

GOOD LUCK BRO ?

I havn't changed the fuel filter again yet since my last change (12k mi?).

I'm not modded on the engine short of long tubes, an intake and a single-blade tb. I have a really fat stock fuel curve (was just dyno'd three weeks ago, at peak, WOT, I was richer then the dyno could report, lol).

It could be plugs, they havn't been changed since my head repair at ford last Feb. I'm running Ultra-94 as my fuel.

The only thing that is throwing me for a loop is that it is only happening when its cold, and is does not quite happen consistently.

If my stupid laptop would work, I'd go datalog, but its not at the moment. (bad batteries)

I'd say either way, your waaaaaaaaay due
Now I change mine every 3K, along with the Oil + Filter change
