pulley question

I want to spend some money on my truck this spring and was wondering if you guys think this is a good setup.

PSP fast air system
longtube headers
chip
4 pulley or 6

is there anything else I need to do so I don't blow the motor,or anything to make it run better.

thanks

Id go with a chip , 4lb lower and some type of air system. Isnteat of the money on the headers. Get a intake spacer, bigger intercooler, fans on the intercooler and a oil seperator to prevent oil from getting in the intake. I like these mods because you get more bang for your buck with all these and the are a lot easier to do than longtubes but this is just me.

forget the headers and get the JDM spacer and FTVB--less than $500 for both.

Get a set of plugs for your setup also...the stock ones are *****

Chip
pulley , 4lb or get brave and get the 6lb
filter
Trans valve body

Get a mildly tuned chip and be extra careful in the winter time.

Wait on the headers

I also second the not getting headers...you don't need them yet, unless you just want them for the sound (it's sweet). My driveshaft loop almost came in handy one night at the track...go with the JLP, you have to drill through your floor with the JDM one.

You guys always say wait on the headers, but I did the headers with a 4# pulley, chip, ftvb, and intake and they made a HUGE difference, the low end torque was a great improvement and throttle response was greatly increased....also, the sound is kinda nice too

Thats what i am concerned about also if i am going to buy a pully i want the most for my money. Is the 4 going to be enough for a low low 12's sec or should I opt. for the 6#?

hitting 12's with a 6# shouldn't be a problem.

hitting low 12's with a 6# is going to be a problem.

RDY2RAC has
8# lower, 2# upper, weight reduction, full roll cage, everything donw to his truck. He JUST missed 11's by about .004 of a second

I'm running what amounts to a 6lber, chip, headers, and slicks and I've gone 12.20s.

12.40s on street tires.

later,
chris
