Angry Squeak in dash

ARG! Less than 2000 miles on my '04 Lightning and I've already developed a pretty nasty squeak in the dash on the passenger's side. I get it whenever I hit a bump or large crack in the road, and it almost sounds like a styrofoam squeak.

As anyone else experienced this? Please tell me there's a fix.

With this as my first Ford, it's definitely quickly put a bad taste in my mouth for Ford's quality.

This must be your first vehicle then. Because everyone knows only Fords squeak right??? Pleeeese!!!!

Why don't you have someone else drive and listen where exactly the squeak is coming from. It could be something as simple as items in your glove box.

I'm not really one to defend Fords quality. But just give the dealership a chance to make it right.

I got a Squeak to.....................tire squeaks!

Seriously though, my 03 has 2300 miles and no problems. Take it to the dealer and see what they find.

Better a squeak than a tranny I remember reading a thread way back where some dude picked his truck up, no miles and blew the tranny going up the onramp. Now that would pi$$ me off.

Mine had a nasty squeak... dealer never found it. I had a friend find it while I was driving. It was pinpointed to a support behind the black cover underneath the power point cupholder area. Took that off and wiggle both upright supports and the drivers side one had the squeak. Tightened it up, and no more squeak at all... and all else is tight as well.

I have the same squeak!!!!! Haven't found it, but I can put pressure on the dash and that stops it. Only does it when I'm driving down bumpy road.

I've kinda quit paying att. to stuff like that. The more I listen and look for, the more problems I find.
