Smile Snow set up is on

I just put on my snow rims and tires today. It was too cold to scrub the blue off the lettering but they look ok for now. My set up consists of the following:

Ford F-150 16” factory aluminum rims I bought on Ebay for $100, $160 shipped.
Kumho Venture 235/70/16 All Terrain Tires I bought from Tire Rack for $285 shipped.
I had them mounted and balanced today for $99 with tax.

The whole setup cost me $544.

I drove it for about an hour today with the new set up and didn’t notice any change………until I gave it some gas and the tires immediately broke loose. It basically spins tires at almost any speed when you hit it. It’s going to take me a while to get used to it.

Hope this helps some people.

Pete

Thanks guys.

I’ll post again once I drive it in the snow. I actually don’t mind the way it looks, it’ a nice change. I’m not as paranoid driving now either, with the factory wheels I am always worried about hitting curbs or getting nails. Just in case anyone wanted to know why I got these tires instead of snow tires, it’s because they were rated almost as good as the snow tire in the snow but also performed way better under normal conditions. They are also much better for wear and they cost allot less. It was a no brainer for me.

Thanks,

Pete

Excellent set up Pete
And dam right it looks good, actually quite good
Thats a great set up for 5 bills, good move Bro

it cost me dam near $700.00 this week for an inspection on
my Jeep. DON'T ASK lets just say I could have done
it myself for under $100.00 if it wasn't for the fact there was either 2ft of snow or day after day of unbelievable rain,
and the inspection was already up
They got road blocks everywhere around here lately,
that time of yr, I got stopped at 2 last weekend within 30 minutes of each other.
TG I had a couple of days left so it was a simple wave on
Now I got 3K in my POS Jeep w/ 120K on it
AND I STILL NEED TIRES *#$*#$!*@#$!*##

Mint inside and out though, so I guess if I can get another yr
out of it, I'd easily have saved that in miles and wear and tear
on the L.

Rob,

Nice jeep, I’d like to get a wrangler as a beater some day. I know about inspections, trust me it’s worse here in Mass. I went through a bad scene a few years ago with my modified 86 GMC pickup. I grew up on LI and I know how it can be a PITA to pass an inspection but trust me MA is worse. I can say one thing for sure though, my winter truck will smoke yours!

Love the mudflaps... Nice winter setup... Do you also put some weight in the bed? I found a few hundred pounds helped me out when I drove my 99 year around...

Hey now! The mud flaps are for the winter. I bought the truck with them and decided to keep them on for the winter. They will be gone in the spring. One good thing about the mud flaps is that I don’t have a single chip on my ground effects and the truck is almost four years old.

No weight in the back yet, I want to see how it does without it first.

Thanks,

Pete
