What is the hp and torque for a two lb pulley that is tuned? I see tons of dynos with the 4lb pulley and haven't really seen any for a 2...

thanks

This is from the JDM web site

This upgrade increases your supercharger boost by 2, 4, or 6 lbs. depending on your selection, increasing torque by 18 lbs.-ft. and HP by 8 on the 2 Lb. pulley, 40 lbs.-ft. and HP by 15 on the 4 LB. pulley, and 50 lbs.-ft. and HP by 18 on the 6 LB pulley
I honestly got to tell you though. When I started this modding, I too only wanted a 2 lb lower. And thought I would just use the 4# for racing only. But JDM sent me the wrong pulley, I unknowingly installed it, ran it for 6k miles thinking I had a 2#. Then after the dyno tune I was AMAZED at what it's like now.
I've towed cars, driven on 2,500 mile vacations, seen spirited mountian driving, daily traffic, and the dragstrip all with this same 4# pulley. The gas milage only dropped a hair too.

I would highly recommend just skipping the 2lb and go with a 4lb.
Even if your not going with a chip or dyno tuned chip. Go with the 4# as it's still a very reasonable discharge temp.

Ya what he said

Or do what I did, start with the 2lb upper
Then add the 4lb lower

I went from a 2lb lower which was great, to a 4lb lower and 1lb upper. No problems with the new combo. As far as horsepower numbers, I haven't dynoed but I can tell you that it's a noticeable difference.

But as the others said, skip the 2lb and go with the 4. You won't have any problems with it and it will save you some $$$ if/when you decide you need more. Oh, and you will..... Yes..you will...Boost is like crack.

I would go with a 6lb pulley and a predator with some PSP programs. No sense in spending money on something that you are going to get rid of later, or at leat by the interchangable setup. Like the others said, it's like crack and with the Predator it's even easier!!

The difference between the 4# and 6# performance is almost negligible due to the amount of heat created. And the 4# is safer IMO. I had a 2# on my 2000 and would definitely recommend the 4#

how necessary is a chip for the 4#, i know u dont need it for the 2#. But also, i put like 20k a year on my lightning...is it really safe to put the 4# on? I was thinking about getting exhaust, and getting the 2 lber to make up for any lost power...not needing a chip. Would a chip on its own make more power than just a 2# itself...wow thats alot of questions, anyone?

Most exhausts aren't really helping with power a lot of guys are noticing some losses. The chip is worth the power increase that it gives with timing, shift durations(quicker shifts, saves the tranny) different fuel curves to go aling with your specific application. A good tuner will take into account everything you are putting on and adjust the chip with a fairly conservatice program until you get him a/f ratio numbers. With the predator you should be able to check that out yourself and with that you or the tuner can adjust the program as necessary and e-mail it to you for optimum performance. PSP has great customer service you might want to give them a call...

thanks for all the replys---

I was debating wether or not to even get a pulley because of the tranny. I asked greg evans(or evert ??) how much power the tranny could take and he said its not the hp you have to worry about but the torque---he said up to 500 pounds of it.... I guess i was assuming that is at the crank but it might be at the wheels ? So the 4 lb would go way over and the 2 lb still busts over 500-- So what do you guys think about the tranny taking 548 torque with the 2 lb?

I've been pushing around 600 ft lbs at the crank for over 15k miles. I have had the FTVB and deep pan for the duration, and she's still holding together. Other guys have had theirs last also, others have shelled them quickly. Any time you mod it's a crapshoot. It depends on how you drive, how good a box you got from the factory, etc, etc. But, you only live once. Go 6# and have a blast.

I had a 2lb on for one month and decided i needed more power so i went with a 4lb lower and havent had any problems since it has been on for 2 years and 10,000 miles but for some reason my consience is saying to go back with the 2lber.

If you're looking for a performance gain - skip the 2lber and get the 4lber. Same work involved and almost same price - but a real difference in power. And don't short change yourslef - get a chip along with it. Theres several vendors to choose from - and they are all helpful in deciding what "program" is best and safest for you.

my consience is telling you to leave the 4lb lower and add the 2lb upper
