Too Loud

Hey All.........

I wanted to get some advice on the options that I have with trying to make the truck quieter. I have Bassani shorty headers, Bassani Hi-flow cats and a MAC catback.......In my opinion it's just too loud for me.........Would I be better off selling the cats and trying to find stock cats, ditching the MAC and trying to find a stock catback, or just trying a different aftermarket catback? I have read all the conflicting stories about the aftermarket catback even being worth any HP so I guess either way I go I would loose too much HP .........Just looking for some input....Thanks in advance.

Later,
Chris

Thanks guys but the only thing is that.....this is the way i bought the truck. Unfortunately, im gonna have to track down some stock stuff to put back on. Which would be a better bet: I want to make it as quiet as possible without sacrificing HP......My assumption is to keep the hi-flow cats and try to find a stock catback but im not sure. How much HP do the hi-flow cats allegedly give us?????? Thanks again.

Chris

i would keep the cats, and put a stock cat-back back on. that would be the best way to go. i have a stock cat-back if your interested, only a couple thousand miles on it. let me know if your interested.

Just a little FYI. Although your cats do produce a louder exhaust tone, that Mac muffler could very well be a major contributer to the noise. A good customer of ours has the Bassani headers with the hi-flow cats and the Magnaflow muffler and it (in my opinion) is the perfect sound...not too loud but with an authoritive tone. In comparison to my long tubes , hi-flow cats and magnaflow muffler, it sound much quieter. The shorties have always sounded less "rude" than the long tube combos. BUT...I have heard the Mac cat-backs with NO other exhaust mods sound louder than the Magna-flow cat-backs. I'll bet if you just change over to either a Magnaflow cat back (or muffler) you will be very pleased with the sound.

I've heard the full bassani system and thought it was just about right on the money.
