I'm ordering the LFP bars, thanks for all of your comments. I'm a little worried hearing about all the bent brackets. I've seen some pics of the LFP Rancho bars and their brackets look like they could hold a tank together so I figure for the same price I will go with them....thanks for all your input guys

I don't see what's so hard about the install. Me and friend installed on one side, then I installed other while he worked on ram air install.

The hardest problem was drilling the holes in chass. Shorter drill bit would help out b/c you don't have lots of room.

Other than that, I don't know which swap is easier, t.b.'s or a KB swap!

Yeah, that's what I was told also... I waited a month. If you don't get them keep bothering Mark until he eventually ships 'em... lol

Make sure you spend a few bucks and get the LFP brackets coated. Their zinc coating looks like crap after just a couple of days exposed to the elements. Also, cut the ubolts down too, they are way too long and look like crap also after they rust, so you might want to paint them. Dont forget to lube the bushings that LFP gives you because they are hard as a rock and will knock like crazy if they arent properly lubed and maintained, also, get a thin wall 7/8's socket for one of the nuts thats extremley hard to torque down because it fits too tight to the rear ubolt bracket.

Just a couple of tips from your old uncle earl.

AY

ps, to answer the question posed in this thread;

I love the JLP bars that were put on my truck, they come with coated ubolts that wont rust, coated brackets and painted bars that look great and high quality bushings that dont make noise, plus they clear all exhaust systems no matter how much you lower your truck.

Didn't you post that you had the polished traction bars on your truck?? In my other thread I thought you did, and they are not the JLP bars are they??

Also, thanks for turning my thread into what will surely become a vendor bashing thread. You sure are loyal to JLP....and you can never just provide info, you always have to be a synical a$$....you're like a F@#$# walking endorsement for JLP, and you bash the hell out of everyone but JLP....I'm sure that helps your I'm not JJ argument....

Chill out dude. Your title to the thread asks how do we like our JLP bars, and yes, I have SS bars, but my brackets, hardware ubolts and bushings are JLP. I was just pointing out things pertaining to the product that you stated you are going to purchase. I have seen several trucks with the LFP bars and the things that I listed were common issues among the owners of said bars.

The brackets are great, just get them powdercoated.

I am sorry that I tried to help you. Good luck.

Yes AY

It's not always what you say but how you say it....re-read your post and see what the tone was....condescending from my stanpoint....but maybe that's just me.

I have to respond to this idiotic babble for a second;

First of all, I have provided alot of info about numerous things regarding Lightnings and their repair, performance and whatever else I can help with, Secondly, I dont bash anyone else. I have been qouted as saying that the JDM phenolic spacer is probrably a good choice for performance improvement, I have also shown my appreciation to Sal, Doug, and other members such as Tim Skelton for their professionalism and the abundance of information that those three individuals share with us all.

I mainly use JLP parts on my truck, but there are parts from others, like RPM outlet, Extrude hone, FMS, and others, but my local installer has access to everything and anything that I need and helps me decide what it right for me by showing me the differences between products, just like I tried to do here in describing the differences, shortcomings and advantages of the products you are interested in.

Again, Good luck with your purchase, but dont open your mouth or punch keys on your keyboard about what you think I stand for or make false statements without doing some research son.

AYII!

I never said you didn't provide useful information, I just said you do it in a derogatory tone. If you read your previous posts it says LFP's bars have this wrong and this wrong and this wrong.....and that JLP is the shiznit. However you fail to mention that JLP's all seem to bend the brackets. Thus, in turn if you look back everytime it seems that you touch a thread it turns to vendor bashing....sorry man, but those are the facts. I don't even know you, I just think you come off as an arrogant a$$ sometimes....

I think it's great that you have such a relationship with JLP, but you often sound like a bible beating christian telling people how your way of life, or in this case mods, is just that much better....if you want to do that be fair in all aspects, and admit that all products have shortcomings....

Don't call me son. Another arrogant, I'm looking at you through my nose comment....

Anyways, arguing on an online forum is just plain retarded, I've said what I have to say, if you don't agree that's fine. I've done my research, and anytime the name JLP comes up you're right there to leg-hump....I have the JLP CAI, great piece, and I'm sure some of his other stuff is top notch....I'm just chosing to go a different direction.

Maybe one day we will get to meet in person, we can talk about it then....but like I said, arguing online is useless.

Have a good one
Ed

um....ok

Anyway---without Vendor Bashing here. It is nice to know if people are unhappy with a certain product--or dislike something about that product. Isnt that what this forum is all about???

I value the opinions of everyone here--good or bad. Just be nice about how you "dislike" certain products. And if you make a product that is "disliked" by people bashing....then maybe you should make it better!
