ok, stupid question. How close to the motor does the temp probe need to be for the pryometer? Also, what good would it do to only measure on side of the exhaust. This dont tell me if I have a cylinder going lean on the side opposite the probe (dont know if it would in the first place). My idea would be to install a probe on each side and use a switch to look between the 2 sides to know what each bank is doing. This way if I had an injector going bad I might be able to see it. If the injector went bad, leaned a cylinder out, but was on the opposite side of the probe, I would never see it until BOOOM! Make sence to anyone?

Chris
ps, is there any tmep gauge the go down to say 70-80? I want to have a temp gauge on my intercooler (just for fun).

A pyrometer is usually inserted in a bung that is 1-2" from the exhaust port. Unless you had a pyrometer on every header tube you'd never know if you had an issue with one certain cylinder.
