Talking Long awaited first kill

Living in a sleepy Florida town it can be rather challenging finding worth while contenders. Plus I am too old for taking chances on the street. I have had my L for 6 months and haven't really felt a side by side to the floor run with anyone.

Well I finally had a taste first hand of what my 496 hp on the road can do. Here goes:

Stopped at a light amongst the drivers, a Suzuki GSX (R?) and a what appeared to be a modded Camaro SS, with of course the Camaro dude reving wanting some action (his engine note did sound sweet). I think the Suzuki guy thought it was for him based on what happened shortly after. I wasn't crazy about doing anything because we were in rather heavy traffic at this point. A couple lights down we all end up 1,2,3 - bike, camaro and the beast on a sweeping right turn to a four lane empty for at least mile nice stretch of road. All he11 breaks loose out of the turn and all of us nail it...............slowing at the speed limit of course, respect to fellow L owners who are cops ; )

Gentlemen/ladies it was heart pumping, hand shaking fun, the bike of course launched like the shuttle discovery and coming from third position I absolutely blew by the Camaro in the left lane at the top of second moving to third. I couldn't believe how fast I over took the Camaro - I started to think he just laid off. The Suzuki driver started to let off and I caught up to him. He gave me a big thumbs up as he watched everything unfold behind him. We hit the next light and there we all are. Windows down the Camaro guy yells out "what the he11 do you have under the hood, you passed me like I was standing still" - I told him what I have at the rear and he gave a thumbs up and a

The kicker was, there was a cop on a bike at this next light in the left hand turn lane, who I didn't see until we were right on top of him. Here's D-Day Mr. conservative, first go on the street and a cop is sitting there on his bike shaking his head and giving all of us the "first finger back n forth" don't let me see you doing that again gesture. I guess he was in a good mood, thank god.

I never found out other than obvious exhaust work what the camaro had done, but I tend to believe something was not right on his end. I went by him with out contest, is this typical?

Bottomline, time to get to the track, that was too much fun!

Have a great weekend!

D-Day

Thanks guys, the excitement still gets the heart pumping. I need to search for bigger prey. A buddy of mine has an 03 Viper that I am trying to convince to hit it with. Any one have any thoughts on a roll with a Viper?

D-Day

Nice kill Dan
Maybe that cop is an omin, (I got away with being crazy for a couple decades) but the track is a great idea.. They must be open all year down there. I know it is never as fun as on the street but...
Now my 16 yr old son tells me I'm "to parinoid" since we got busted for street racing last summer, Maybe.

if you've got 496hp then you can pretty much take anything out there on the street from a low speed take off. 496 is big hp, what all do you have done to that thing??
