Oil Seperator

I searched and didnt find what i needed. I took my upper intake off today to see if my oil seperator which is on the Left side PCV. The whole upper intake was covered with a film of oil. BUt it is coming from the drivers side PCV valve since it is the only hole in the tube that has oil in it. What are my options on stopping the oil coming in from the drivers side besides a Breather cap. Im thinking of custom fabbing a oil sperator just like the passenger side for the drivers side. Am i the only one with oil coming from the drivers side? It had to of happend in the last 3,000 miles becuase that is when i put my ported TB on and it was clean then.

There is no PCV valve on the driver's side tube/cam cover. I would not use an oil breather cap/filter. I tried it and took it off--too much chance for unmetered air to enter the engine=lean a/f's.

Your not by chance using a thick oil are you? Hum... On my otherwise stock long block the oil seperator 100% stopped the problem for me. (10W-30 Mobil 1)

Sorry, the post comment was just a little test, you passed and show respect for another point of view. So I'll help you with the PCV part of Danny's Kit. The stock PCV is replaced with one that is a true oneway valve. Therefore the boost pressure doesn't pressurize the crankcase and blow oil from the driver side cam cover. Keep your seperator if it works for you, but replace the PCV to stop the oil you see in the rubber boot and throttle body area.

I may have to check out that Swanson kit as well. Even with my passenger side oil seperator I am still seeing a bit of oil in the plenum

The dime gose into the hose that the oil seperator spliced into. Pull the hose off the connection at the upper plenum, push the dime in about a 1/4 inch and then push the hose back onto the plenum. The dime will self align inside the hose with the end of the bib on the plenum. Looks totally stock.

I don't know what the purpose is...maybe to lubricate the rotors?? Sounds silly to me either way.

but in answer to your second question,
No. As this has been covered in the past.... The passenger side tube coming from the valve cover actually "T"s off before going up to the upper intake plenum. It T's to the back of the engine, and into the lower intake galley (see pic below... its the hole where all the oil is pooling). So if you block the upper part (right at where it connects to the upper intake plenum), you still leave it open to breathe.
