Difficuly Getting the Wheels Off!

Changed to my winter tires and rims yesterday and had trouble getting the wheels off the hubs. Lots of rust on the hubs and studs. What do I use to alliviate this problem? Thanks

Mine are hard toget off. Justr hit the tire hard with your foot it should come free.

i was at the track once, and couldnt get my rear right wheel off.
Had to attach a rope to the wheel, and use my dads dodge dakota to pull it off !

Anti-seize. Smear it on the snouts(where the wheel locates to the hub/axle), and on the face of the hub/axle. Works great, haven't had a tough wheel to remove yet.

I've been using this 'stuff' for years and years. It lasts and lasts. It will not wash off. Put it on the back of each wheel and on each wheel stud. It's THE best antisieze I've come across.

I ran into the same situation last year when I was rotating my tires. I couldn't get the lugs loose on the driver-rear rim. I wound up using an 8 ft. long breaker bar and it sounded like a friggin' 357 magnum going off when they broke loose. Then I remembered that that was the wheel that had a leaky wheel bearing replaced under warranty. A-hole mechanic must have used a truck impact wrench to put the lugs back on. Probably hoping like all hell that I would get a flat in the middle of nowhere and not be able to break the lugs loose.

OK. Sorry. That added no value to this thread but I feel better.

It happened to me once at the track changing to my race tires. I ended up putting the truck on the ground and putting it into reverse and heard this loud pow

When I got home I took them off(hard again) and put antiseize all over the hubs/wheels and have not had a problem since.
