Powder Coating Question

I have been giving some thought about getting my wheels powder coated.

I called three places and got prices of $22, $25 and $88 for each wheel. The above prices do not include removing the tires or having the rims sandblasted to remove the factory finish.

Are all powder coating processes the same? I don't know if the $88 company has a better process which makes them more expensive or if the $22 / $25 people are missing something.

Any help would be appreciated....

Best thing to do is ask the company that wanted $88.00 for the rim. Let them know that you found cheaper prices and see what their explanation is and get as much detail about their process.. If they say materials, ask them what they use. Then go back and ask the other companies what products and process they use. Always ask as many direct questions that you can. After all it's your money and your wheeels. Also inquire about warranty and references.

DAMN!!! I have only found one place that powder coats around here. The price is $35 per wheel and that is: Media blasting the wheels to remove the factory coating, The powder coat, and clear coat.

What would be a good color on a red truck. I was thinking about going with the same color as stock, but i dont know if I want to (I have a wheel that has the factory color flaking off and Ford wont replace it hence powder coating back to stock color). Maybe stock color with a red lip?

Black with polished lip would look tight. Someone here has that done and it looks great.
