this was just a thread like a week or so ago.....someone, don't remember who, said you could gain up to 35 rwhp from a build motor, and 35-75 more if you add cams while the motor's out....depends on the application i'm sure

yes you can gain power by boring .2-.3 over. but you can do that with anyblock, but you might as well build it too while its out

Depends on what's being done. But if you're just replacing rods pistons, and no boring or higher comp., prob. not.

Technically Speaking, You will lose HP. Why ? Because Forged parts weigh more than stock pieces, more rotating mass means less HP. While the loss is minimal, the piece of mind is worth it. Not to mention a pulley swap will easily overcome the power loss.

Most people rebuild their engines for durabiltiy issues, and to make them stronger. However, if the engine is 'blueprinted', or built to exact tolerances, a V8 can pick up 20-30 hp. This includes align-boring the cylinders with torque plates, ensuring the decks are exactly perpendicular, etc. Precision balancing the moving parts, knife-edging the counterweights, and other tricks also can pick up a few HP.
