? about resistor

Is anyone familiar with a white resistor located somewhere near the heat exchanger that has something to do with the fuel system?

The resistor is mounted to the bracket that holds the intercooler water circulation pump.

The Lightning has a two stage fuel pump system that works as follows:

Up to about 1/3 throttle. the fuel pumps are supplied reduced voltage by their being grounded through the resistor. Above 1/3 throttle (actually it is above a certain TPS voltage) a relay actuates and full voltage is supplied.

The purpose of this is to slow the fuel pumps down with a corresponding drop in fuel pressure when it is not needed. This, plus the boost sensitive pressure regulator yields 38-40 psi at idle with a linear increase to 52-54 at WOT.
