Lightning gage question

Does anyone have a add-on oil pressure gage on their truck? I notice that the oil pressure gage in my truck never varies from a cold start to a hot idle. For that matter the temperature gage doesn't either once it reaches operating temperature. I've never seen a motor that ran constant oil pressure, hot or cold, idle or 5000 rpms. Make me think the Ford gages are placebo gages or else their internals are extremely dampened.

I'm pretty sure the oil pressure gauge in the truck is like a dummy switch, on or off. If oil pressure is above a certain amount, the gauge reads normal, but if it goes under that amount, then the gauge drops to zero. That's how it was in my Cobra, and I've heard that's how it is in the Lightning too. Just Ford's way of saving a couple bucks.
