Question Header Gaskets???

Okay I just blew a header gasket the other night or it finally got bad enough for me to notice, but i need a new one. I have Bassani headers so should I call Bassani or use Fords, or maybe there is a more durable one out there. If anybody has any suggestions let me know, thanks and happy holidays.

Cool

HI!... I've been running the FORD header gasket PART # M-9448-A462. I have not had any problems with them. Most of the time it's not the actual header gasket that's the problem, it's the way they were installed. Over the years I have learned the proper way of installing header gaskets. Install them cold and then warm up the engine to operating temp. While warm re-tighten. Then totally let cool down and re-tighten again. Do not re-install your inner wheel wells. Drive for a few days and then re-tighten again. After that re-install your inner wheel wells and your good. Since I've been doing this I have never blown a headers gasket on any of my header equipped vehicles. It doesn't hurt either to periodically re-tighten the header bolts.
