Dumb Q - How to install tailights

have a 2000 L, so tailights are red... just tracked my clear ones and they come in tomorrow.... so I know this is probably a stupid question, but how do I install them?

Just open the tailgate and the screws are next to the lights on the inside. If you are using the factory scews, you need to cut about a 1/4" off or they will go through the inside of the taillight and ruin them.

Pretty straight forward...two bolts on each side. Easy mod!!! Just did mine a couple of weeks ago. Just make sure, as mentioned above, you cut the bolts or you will put a hole into the new lights. I was lucky enough to get a hold of the bolts from 01+ L to solve this problem. Did you get the clear headlights, too?

ok, guess i didnt see the bolts in the rear because my truck has a bed liner.... i guess i will have to remove that...

anyway, truck already has the stock clear headlights, but aftermarket clear side pieces.... i am doing the 01+ projector lights and sides next....

Scott,

The screws are not located in the back, they are on the side. You will see them when you open the tailgate. Also, the 01+ headlight look different. They are a lot cleaner looking than the 99-00. I just upgraded mine and it makes a huge appearance difference. At least in my mind it did. Good luck.
