Post Comments on my boost bypass!

I just got done installing my boost bypass and would like to know if everything looks good. I got the parts I needed from Autozone.

Note that I unpluged it because it was in the way when I took the pictures. I pluged it back in after I took the pics. I also have a high res version if anybody really needs to see it.

The red circle is the T-fitting, the yellow circle is the elbow fitting, and the blue circle is the boot cap.

Everything look good??? I don't want to mess anything up thats way Im asking.

I did take it for a drive and the boost guage did hit 10 pounds of boost, but the fact the its in the low 30's here with snow showers may have helped since our trucks like the cold.

Its going to really get fun early next week when my Airaid intake comes in.

Thanks for any info.

Identical to the 'kit' that some vendors charge $25 for with the exception of their providing a small allen-head machine screw to plug the vacuum port that you put the boot cap on.

It's even installed exactly like the directions that come with the boost bypass. Now plug the wiring harness back in and drive around secure in the fact that you've now got a boost bypass. And what did it set you back? I'm guessing about $3-4 at Autozone prices.

Well, you could have also just unplugged the connector before you bought anything, and done the same thing for free .

Oh, and that Airaid you have coming doesn't work well with the 90mm, you may have to modify it an open the inlet hole up.

I already get some tire smoke. From a stop to WOT, my back end wiggles all over the place untile halfway through second. Thats with a stock truck and F1's.

Still fun though.

I did that and the boost gauge did not go pass 8.5 pounds. With it pluged in it hit about 10 pounds. Both times it was very cold outside. Anybody want to explain that because I don't know how that worked.

The boost bypass solenoid has nothing to do with how much boost you make. It's there to open the bypass in the event of something the PCM considers a failsafe (like powerbraking). It's just an on/off thing, when it's activated, you have no boost at all.

I know that but I don't understand why I was getting more boost with it pluged in. The other night when I was comeing home from work, it was in the mid 20's and when I floored it on a empty street I got about 8.5 if almoat 9 psi with it unpluged. Now yesterday when I pluged it back in and took it for a drive I got about 10 psi and it was not as cold(it was in the 40's).

Is there something wrong or am I trusting the stock boost gauge to much?

This is my first supercharged vechicle so I am alittle uninformed about this stuff so forgive me for sounding stupid.

I to have the boost bi pass, and I like it. When my truck was closer to stock, I tried just unplugging the plug, but it set off a SES light on my truck. When I did the boost bi pass it never did it again.

Well you gobber. I wish I would have know you are selling it, with that price you would have gotten the money in no time.

The time you had it, what do you think about it? Is it a good intake or are there much better systems out there?

Also, not every truck hits the 10-10.5 boost in every gear. It is usually harder to see 10lbs of boost in 1st gear...but keep it gunned, and u should see it in second and third gears...thats where the boost really racks up and adds the power...good luck...im waitin on my k&n now, well see how that goes.

I get 10lbs of boost backing out of a driveway barely touching
the pedal.

Oh ya I have 6lbs of xtra pulley at it's in the 20's here in NY

The best part is WOT when the needle goes around into
the tach area of the dash board
