Bassani exhaust - Loud!

I just got my Bassani cat-back put on my '04 Lightning... I have to say that based on the reports that I read on here and other message boards, it's *much* louder than I had expected.

I've had other trucks with custom exhausts in the past, but this is by far the loudest. I get some drone in the cab during partial throttle up hills, but otherwise it's not too bad.

As others have said, it's still surprisingly quiet at idle.

Unfortuantely, now I feel like I need to not only watch out for cops seeing me... but also hearing me!

Bassani rocks... add some high flow cats and you'll know what "loud" means.

All I can say is you pay for what you get! I have nothing bad to say about my Bassani catback other than the band clamps. This exhaust is quality workmanship and you cannot beat the sound. I still have a smile on my face. Shop around, you could probably get them for $615 plus shipping. You will not be dissapointed.

Exhaust Sound

I think you will get use to your Bassani exhaust sounding too loud. Before you know it, the exhaust will begin to sound stock. What's loud is when you have Long Tube Headers, High Flow Cats, and The Smallest MagnaFlow Racing Can Mufflers. I had this setup in the past and I enjoyed every minute of this, but it was too loud for the streets. 102-105 DB/decebels.

I now use the new MagnaFlow catback system and it's perfect.

I've had it on for a few weeks now, and I've definitely gotten much more used to it. However, I think the install of my JLP cold air kit may have contributed to the better sound.

It's hard to tell, because the same weekend that I installed the cold air kit, I also spent a good deal of time riding my Harley (which I hadn't touched in over a month).... so I may have just gotten used to that loud exhaust.

On the other hand, I feel like the cold air kit really gave the exhaust what it needed (as it should) and the sound seemed to calm down to a more healthy, deep, badass sound.

I'm very happy at this point... much more so than my initial reaction. I really love the rumble I get on the highway when I "roll off" the gas and coast!
