Ever see a fleetside L??

I was just wondering if anyone has ever put a fleetside bed on an L? Now before everyone says why why why. Ive never been a fan of the flareside beds. I love the way the L looks but I think it would look even better with the fleetside bed. Maybe someone might even have a picture? Would our ground effects fit on a fleetside bed? Im sure a guy with a fleetside has tried to put our ground effects on thier truck. Ive heard that the fleetside bed is also about 100 pounds lighter than the flareside. It would be different

I think the stepside makes the lightning what it is...also, I think the stepside single cab is the lightning combo possible!

Yes you can only get the lightning in a singlecab flareside, but that cant stop anyone from putting a fleetside bed on it. To me the engine is what makes a lightning a lightning, not the bed. But thanks for the reply

I remember seeing a picture of a metallic red fleetside with all the L goodies on it. It was on the NLOC website I think. It didn't look right without the flareside bed on it. It looked visually unbalanced. Not having the flareside box to balance the lines of the truck out makes the front bumper cover stand out too much.

It was a nice truck and I am sure the owner loves it and thinks it's beautifull. Parents still love their kids even if they have buck teeth and dumbo ears ........ right ?

Danoids truck is nice, really nice. But looks out of balance, nose heavy.
Anyone remember the 1979 mustang king cobra ?

his truck looks nose-heavy, because he didn't put the side skirts on. it would look more balanced if he did. the flare side is lighter than the fleetside bed, that's why svt used it. they chose the lightest f150 platform available. it's because the fenders are made of a composite plastic instead of steel.

Has anyone ever compared the weights to make sure? I know that Ford Truck was going to put flaresides on the Gen1, but they couldn't make enough of them, and the flaresides on the older body style were actually heavier than the fleetsides.

I've not been able to get an answer on this. I've heard the stylesides are lighter from some and the flaresides are lighter from others.
