Ran a nice 8.5 but my trap speed was a low 77mph...before installing my 4lb pulley i was running 8.80 @ 80mph...i could feel the truck dragging twoard the end of the track...like it was holding back...now everytime i get into anything past 10psi it starts to sputter really bad...of course i let out immediatly...i have an idea it has somthing to do with the A/F..because it has yet to be tuned..plus it has droped to the 50's here...im planning on doing new mods in a month or so...so should i wait to get the tune all at once or tune it now..and then again once the new mods come along..is it safe to drive on???
thanks guys

last night i tried pulling the chip out....and running the stock computer...its sputtering and and poping even worse now! i cant push the gas more that 1/4 way..i sure hope this is a fixable problem by just getting it looked at by a tuner...then dyno/tuned....

You probably burned up a plug or two. I'd pull and check them and then have the chip reburned before any sustained full throttle blasts.

FUEL PUMP!

what year is your truck?
If is a a 99-00 one of the tubes on the fuel pump popped off.
common problem

just replace the cheap Ford Clamp with an aftermarket one.

The clamp is located in the tank.
Have you tried unplugging your computer and replugging it for a reboot?

I'd try that first before going through the hassel of dropping the tank. You can also take it to most major auto parts to see if you have thrown any codes. You should see a right bank or left bank lean code. I rebuilt my motor and did not clamp my fuel line down and it poped off which shut down the truck but also threw a check engine light that read left bank lean.

i just took it to a local auto shop, and they said the code it was throwing was...something to do with the map sensor....the also said it was missfiring...like not hitting all 8 cylenders...it only does it when you push boost....you can put in it low gear (1st) and run it to 4,000rmps and its a nice steady, smooth, acceleration...but when boost is being pushed...nasty poping, snapping, backfiring...from the exhaust and it totaly doesnt pull at all.... : ( HELP!!!!

That make sence! You have a crank sensor and a cam sensor tha Synchronizes them for timing purposes. i don't think there real costly ethier. Ford Cheap parts should have them and their easy to change. Both have only one bolt and a plug.

Let me know if you need a pic. or diagram.
