the only time I look for fish tailing is when I can smell the fish flavor

"I'm an old feller like Lightningrod, except my truck is stock & never been to the strip! "

Aw Jake, you had to say that ? I didn't come here to be made sport of .

That happened to me a few cold mornings ago on the way to work. Turning left at an intersection and I got in a little hurry . The rear start's coming around to my right but 3 years of 'driver's schooling' in my 91 Z281LE helped out.........no problemo.

ya dude, i was on my way to work at 7am yesterday...there was a plastic trashcan bouncing around the freeway...cars kept hitting it and throwing it aroud...I figured it wouldnt get to my lane...anyway, a car hit it, flew to my lane, and stopped right in front of me. Cars flying on both sides of me... nailed the brakes and stopped right behind it...when it was all clear again, from a full stop on the freeway, i punched it maybe 1/2 way, not expecting anything. Just wanted to accelerate back to freeway speeds quickly, but i looked back and i saw smoke...TOTALLY not expected at all...felt it go left, felt it go right, straightened out...it was fun! Love the truck and love 50 degree mornings, its great!

Thanks guys for the responses!

LocoSVT may be about on the money with his post. Unlike some of you who had this experience, I was only going about maybe 25 when more pressure put on brakes (slowing down from 40 preparing to make turn), making turn at maybe 10-15 before foot slipped off brake onto gas. I probably wasn't doing more than 20 when fishtailing began. Glad I wasn't going faster or I might have done a 180 like some of you!

Dan (LRod), you are my unofficial mentor! You may be older than me chronologically, but must be younger mentally or I'd take my truck to Silver Dollar with you!

Happy Thanksgiving everbody! Hope you get your bird stuffed!

Thats no joke about the Mustang. My L has got some mods and it's not to bad as long as you take it easy on the loud pedal, but with a 5 speed in a 5.0 good luck in the rain. I comonly see 3rd gear starts (4.10 rear end).

It's happened to me twice. Usually trying to pass some one after leaving a light, punching it to make the pass from a slow roll. In the cold If I punch it at 30mph or under my rear end will cut loose.

I noticed my foot slid off the stock pedals right after I bought the L. My first mod was some different pedals. The stock brake and gas pedals were the tiniest things I ever saw. I bought some from the local wallmart. May sound kind of ricey but my foot never slides off now.

Mine fishtales all the time in the rain. I guess being young and raced for 10 years of my life make being sideways second nature. Its all in the throttle control and steering input.

I know what you mea. But i had a modded 5.0 before. It rains like 200 days a year here. Daily commuting with 4.10's and stick with 300+ hp. That gets fun. Lightnings are easyer to drive but i get more scared since they are alot bigger. Thats a huge *** sliding around. My stang felt tiny and nimble compared to it. As well my stang was ...well jsut a stang. I love the L too much to risk smashing it.
