Drifting is more for show than performance. I'd rather keep the vehicle tucked in and make some nice lines

"*before someone attempts to spread their infinite wisdom to me about drifting not being the fastest away around the track.. DUH...*"

yes, I like drifting alot... I do it in both my L and Cobra on road courses... I do NOT do it for show though, I just think its fun to do. The L will drift very nice, get all 4 tires drifting is a rush (to me atleast) The Cobra REALLY drifts well

OK I'm a little retarded. WTF is drifting??? Sliding your car/truck around a corner? Now maybe I'm getting old, but if thats right, I can see it in a mustang, but I don't think I want my truck doing four wheel slides....I like the shiney side up!!!!! And what are you asking about, a video game, or actually driving?? Damn I must be getting old!

This past spring my good buddy "drifted" his 92 f150 flareside into a gaurdrail!!! Flipped over mid air, the roof never hit. He has several broken ribs and a really cool scar on his arm to show for it. He remembers nothing but making an "Uuuuffffffff!" noise at some point in the ride. I don't call that fun!

Don't feel bad, im 21 and i don't know what the hell they are talking about. I'll bet the moderators doing the thinker pose trying to figure out if this thread should be moved or not.

I think they mean sliding around corners like you said, but beats me.

Here's a good video of drifting shows:

Go to http://216.239.57.104/search?q=cache...hl=en&ie=UTF-8

on the left side is a red engine pic, above it is "Team_Drift.wmv", it's 26.5MB big. Very awesome video.

However, I don't like Initial D or much of the "drifting" scene. It's just like drag racing here. People are really into it and have great car setups, then there are the horrible movies made about it and the subcultures that evolve around it (ie, TF&TF).
