Stage 2 Cams

Is the life span of the valve train effected? I read in another thread that with lifts at .58 that the valve train could see as few as 10k miles.
I am sure many of these kits will be finding there way to daily driven street trucks. So a greater life span than that would be expected.

i say bs. it might be alittle harder than stock on the valves do to the higher lift, but thats what aftermarket springs are for. ive been running rediculous cams in all my chevys some on stock valve trains, all have held up to my wear and tear

Hey James: I don't know if ford mod motors are different than LS1's, but with aftermarket cams for Chebbies in that lift range, you should replace the valve springs every 12,000 miles or every year for safety. It's not just the miles but the cold starts and heat cycling that fatigues them.

Well I have 20,000 miles on my stage 2.5 cams. Mine are stage 3 with just a little duration taken out of them. As cpeapea sayed with the proper aftermarket valve springs you should get plenty of millage out of you valvetrain.
