Flow Master

anyone used the Flow Masters on a Lightning? Guy in my town can give me a full bolt on system for 350. I know they sound good cause he has the 40 series on his Lightning. J/C as to the power gains over other exhausts.

I heard Flowmasters on Lightnings and I was not impressed at all by the sound. I was also truobled on what exhaust to get for my Lightning. I did some looking around and I went with Borla's XR-1 Sportmans Race Mufflers. And I have to say I am very pleased with my new exhaust. I got them from Jeg's. I also got the X-pipe as well. I had my local muffler shop install me a full dual 2 1/2 exhaust without cats with chrome tips. And all was for under $600. I am getting some headers soon. My neighbors dont like my new exhaust as much as i do. It has a killer sound to it. $350 is cheap but don't think it is worth it. (I think)

Diablo Chip
C&L 95 mm mass air with Cold Air Intake

just say NO to flowmasters on Lightnings!

I love them on stangs, but I've heard two L's with flowmasters and both of them sounded REALLY bad. so bad in fact that Both owners of said trucks had the flowmasters replaced with other muffs

later,
chris

I had 2 40 series flowmasters on my truck for a while, they made my truck sound like a damn 747 at WOT. I felt no "a$$ dyno" results but as soon as I took it off and put on my magnaflow catback I noticed a huge difference in the way the truck picked up in the lower rpm range. I love my maggy and will never look back.

Dont go with the flowmasters, I had one on a '99L, sounded like a bag of farts.

Get the manaflo, thats what I got on this 01L, its much better, no drone and weird noises.

Flowmasters are *****. Go with the Magnaflow or the Bassani. Or you could do what I did. Kooks longtubes, 3" midpipes with no cats and the dual Magnaflow. I haven't installed it yet but I heard it sounds sick.
