Seeing that i can buy a 90mm mas + boot for around $100 bucks for my 99'-- i was wondering how much of a gain this would actually acheive-- I am sure some will suggest aftermarket intakes, but i want to keep it "ford" to keep my extended warranty....

I know that i would have to reflash for the mas-- but assuming the same reflash was done prior for the 80mm-- i was wondering the performance gains and woudl it be worthwhile...

 

unless you plan on pushing big horsepower, you will see no gain.

when you upgrade to a 90, you sill need a chip. the sensor's and air flow are different than the 80mm.

you won't notice anything like I siad until you start pushing big HP numbers

 

Ditto on the above. I went 12.52 @ 108 on an 80mm. 400/500 club too.

dayum that's a good run for only 405 hp!

 

I've been told that if your making 14psi or more, your 80mm
maf will max out at high speeds.
Me and a friend had the same mods other than I had an 80 he had a 90. At the track we ran the exact same time and mph(one may be a few .0000's faster or slower each run. (1/8 and 1/4 mile)But on the interstate after 100mph or so he would start pulling away. Anyway, I have just bought a 90mm and I guess we'll see what happens now.

 

The only real advantage is actually the fact that the tuners have much more advanced programs for the 90mm MAF trucks because those are the what they do most of their "current" testing on. Yes some of the tuners have good programs for the 80mm but the 90mm are far more refined.
