phantom pictures

Does anyone have a picture of their AutoMeter "Phantom" gauges on at night. (If you have them installed in your pillar pod) I want to see how well they compare to the stock dash gauges. I have seen the "Lunar" gauges and they are noticably brighter. Though I have heard of some people who installed an in-line diode or something of that sort to bring the brightness down (to look more like the stock guages) Any idea what that thig is?
Thanks.

John

Thanks Joe,
Are you pretty satisfied with your "Phantoms?"

Is it me or are your dash lights fairly bright? Did you change the bulbs or something?

Well you wouldnt want to install a diode b/c that will either let current pass or stop it depending on the orientation. What you could probably do is install a resistor in series before the gauge so that you get a voltage drop and dont give the light as much voltage which should make it not as bright.

Oh Resistor

Thats the word/ thingy I couldnt think of. I have heard of people using them with their "lunar" setup, but I dont know how well they worked.

A diode is also used to drop voltage in much the same way as a resistor.
