woo hoo, i can sell this superchip to anyone with a ford now and buy it from diablo. why is that guy selling them for $419! Hell, according to the sheet I can sell them all day long at $350 shipped. Next day may be $15-20 more but not $70! hehe
If you run the Predator can you change programs on the fly like you can with a flip chip? And if you can how do you tell? If not I guess there is still a niche for the flip chip. Just have to do reburns for new additions.

Why would anyone "report" someone for selling it cheaper? I dont plan on getting one myself...but if I was I sure as hell would take the cheapest deal I could find....wether Diablo frowns on that sort of thing or not.
people,
you are missing hte point UPS is going to hold on to them for 2 weeks before delivering them..
Nah, I'm just kidding...
All I have to say is it is about time!
All the hype I've heard for the last 6 months better be worth it.
*****, reminds me of the dodge boys and thier SRT-10

Think of it this way, manufacturer's rely on volume which the greater the volume the greater the earnings.
If you have a number of dealers moving your product and one dealer is undercutting the remaining dealers, typically the result is reduced sales, volume decreases. Not all customers will buy just for the lowest price, many other factors involved with todays consumer.
So, back to the point, one undercutting dealer = reduced volume and therefore reduced earnings = not good.
Many manufacturers do this to protect the bottom line.
Hope that helps, it's not a rat on the competition position, but protect the product and purchase agreement with the manufacturer kinda deal.
Now, if a bunch of dealers get together and agree to set a price, that's price fixing and in our wonderful country it's illegal, but a manufacturer can heavily influence a "suggested retail price" without breaking any laws.

A manufacturer must establish a MSRP, but is free to make
any kind of deals with any customers that they wish, as long
as the contracts are based on volume and are available to all
dealers that sell the same volume.
Manufacturer's have no control over what the dealers sell
things at. Manufacturers are NOT Microsoft !!!

Which is how most of the pricing deals work - either that or if you undercut msrp and they find out they change your cost upwards to force you to sell at the same rate as everyone else

As far as price, Many companies will not provide co-op money for ad's or all allow people to advertise a certain price, but you can still sell for under that price. But if you order more you cost can be lower than most, so you in return can sell cheaper and maintian the same profit as the guy next door.
Way to many variables that customers never know.

My post in response to RWTD's post in another forum
RWTD.... Your statement "Using the Predator, you will NOT have to worry about any physical warranty terminating evidence like a chip poses." IS A BIT MISLEADING !
From what I have read from multiple sources FORD will in fact know when they work with your L's computer that in fact the program was recently fooled with. I gather some type of time stamp. Anyway, a tech scanning your L's computer can see this and WHO KNOWS how Ford will handle this. No one shoud be so foolish to think Ford is oblivious to the Predator. It will only be a short period of time before Ford will have something in writing/a policy on how to deal with the Predator users in an attempt to void their L's warranty. My suggestion is anyone going with the Predator to know in advance you may just be in fact voiding your warranty. Again RWTD to say "Using the Predator, you will NOT have to worry about any physical warranty terminating evidence like a chip poses." is sales bull**** and quite misleading.
