Question Dumb question about 01+ tail-lights

I just installed the 01+ style tail-lights on my 00 L and there is a noticable gap between the light and the frame. Is this normal??? Did I miss a gasket or seal? I looked on my old lights, but did no see one. It's been buggin me for a couple of days now so I figured I should ask. Thanks guys!

As in a gap do you mean about 3/16"? My trucks lights have a gap about like that.

Did you knock off 1/2" or so off the screws?

I used the screws of the newer model, and yes the gap is about 1/4 inch maybe a little less. Looks kinda weird. Did I miss something?

From what I'm picturing in my head, there is a gap about that size. So to answer your question, its normal.
