Chrome plating?

I just added Smoothie IIs to my L recently. I had to have the tires pulled off to add Nitto 555r's this past weekend. The asses scratched the wheels up badly enough that they'll need to be re-polished. I guess they laid them down flat on the concrete floor in the garage. Anyway, I've almost decided to just go ahead and have them chromed instead of re-polished. How much should I expect to pay for this? I've made one inquiry already and was quoted $800.00 for all four. Does this sound reasonable? I assume this includes shipping, since it's a local wheel shop taking care of everything.

Thumbs up

Maybe you'd just be better off buying an aftermarket chrome wheel? I was considering chroming my wheels also but after asking around I came to the conclusion that its not worth it. Saw a sweet set of 20's on ebay for $1200. I'm sure you could find replacement 18" wheels for cheaper then that.

...Misread your post. Thought you had stock wheels. Nevermind!

I'm already dealing with them. This is a separate issue entirely. Believe me, they are gonna pay.

That's exactly what I was looking for. I may even use those guys. 40 years in the business is an attractive feature. $800.00 seems a little high compared to what they charge; but, only by about 100 bucks. If I can get installation included from the local guy, it might be worth it to avoid the shipping and receiving headaches.

Thanks a lot!

Roger
