Tranny Gauge reading 250 degrees ?

Tranny Gauge reading 250 degrees ?
Just wired up a new tranny gauge.

Soon as power is on it maxes out at 250.

The oil gauge slowly comes to temp....

Any ideas...? Do the Autometer Gauges fail high?

Make sure it's grounded well. They say you don't need a ground since the sender should ground itself, but mine did the same and when I grouded it, it started working fine.
