Question Should I go back out one last time and see what I can do>???

Well I told myself Cecil would be the last time the truck gets run with the stock long block in anticipation that there was a good chance it would let go. But as you all know, it didn't. So now I have the itch to go out there and take some weight out of her and maybe turn the boost up a bit and go for an even better number. There is an even better chance it will blow up then( probably 99%). But if it makes one clean pass and hold together, I have the chance of seeing an 11.00 I think. Remember I have not taken one bit of weight out of this truck, aside from the Bogarts. I just have that itch. I have the chance, so should I take it>??? Lose a good 200-300 pounds and but my 6LB lower on. I know the final decision is up to me, but would like to hear what everyone else thinks about it. Go out and do it or not, I am EXTREMELY please with how she has performed and would like to thank EVERYONE who has gotten me to where I am today JDM for tuning, Outrageous Performance for some kick azz wheels and JLP for traction and safety. Also my brother for help playing around with the truck. Thanks, -Mat-

Mat what do you have to take off for weight savings.

are you still running the spare and hitch?

Besides taigate and seat what else would you take off to get 200-300 lbs.?

Hitch, spare, tail gate, seat, jack, bed cover, anything I can. Like I said, nothing is off of the truck. How does everyone else get their trucks to weigh in 4600LB zone with driver>??? -Mat-

I was very unhappy with Cecil's track prep last weekend. I am sure it had to do with the new tires, but still was a little disappointed. -Mat-

I had figured you had the hitch and spare off already. They weigh alot.
The seat , tailgate, jack and bedcover are maybe 80 # all together.

Also a lot of guys run a rollpan, except Dons Bolt. (the bumper is very heavy).

Good luck in whatever you decide to do. just remember if it is T&T on an open track you'll only get one shot. Make it a good one.

Do it; don't forget about the front sway bar and drain the washer fluid.

I say go for it, but first, go get a rollbar put in over the winter and then come out in the chilly spring air with less weight and try it.

Dont forget the rollbar adds a bit of weight, so shaving it somewhere else will help and not only that, but if you do blow it up at 120mph and get oil/water on your slicks, you'll be safer with it.

Sure go for it.... but keep in mind if you do blow your engine oil goes all over the place and always finds your rear tires and with a 11 second pass 115 MPH or better it gets real scary on the big end.

Think safety. If you lose it remember no roll cage, no 4 point harness etc. Wouldn't want to lose you.

Till I get my roll cage I'm off the 1/4 mile track. I will as time allows go to the local 1/8 mile track.

Just be safe....
