Lightbulb HELP PLEASE! Can someone post a pic of a stock L ECM??

Long story short - I really need some quick help!!

I need a picture of a stock Lightning or Harley ECM w/ the port still showing the conformal coating.

If anyone has one lying around - (any tuners???) - Could you PLEASE post a pic or email me one (through the forum).

Thanks in advance. If things 'work out' I'll explain in a couple days...

I'll be forever in your debt!!!!!!! (If it works out, I'll even send you a case of )

Looked at those pics... Trying to see what color the contacts look like prior to sanding them down, and how much/where the conformal coating is...

Thanks, BTW, Struck in AZ... Anyone else?? It would seriously be a life saver...

The contacts are a dull silver...almost metallic gray prior to cleaning them. A chip will rub through the top coat and make a copper-ish color. The conformal coating probably varies from truck to truck but it completely covers the contacts on both sides. I think if you're able to get a similar material and not put it on two thick Ford might have a hard time proving that it wasn't their original crap.

You might want to search on 'conformal' as I think someone may have posted what they did to return their PCM to a stock look.

Sweet... I will pick up some Testors paint, and a fine paint brush.

I was thinking of trying some hot glue on both sides - it has the same feel as that conformal coating as well

Does the coating only go over the contacts, maybe a bit past them on the circuit board? I forget if it goes over the edge as well, creating like a glob at the end or not....

Mine went over the contacts and past them a bit. There was coating along the edge of the circuit board as well. I think the board's edge is just kind of dipped into a vat of that crap...

Let's just say that it's BS that a known issue with the 5.4 engines has to be scrutinized...

conformal coating

i think the coating you are trying to find is humiseal 1673 ap.this is used on elec.coating it has a property you will need as i do believe it fluoress in black light. that is to prevent tampering with the contacts.you should check the ecu to see if this not true.

some "tuners" will rent you a ecu for warranty work. Call around or email me.

Yea, been calling around locally for something similar.. Nobody seems to carry it.

I was thinking over heating hot glue and applying. Should appear just as the conformal does in normal light
