Unhappy SES Light at 180 miles.

I have no luck. LOL. SES light came on today at lunch with 180 miles on the truck. Hopfully just a fouled sensor. I check the gas cap, but no luck. The truck was inspected in April, so its been sitting around a while. Should I get the oil changed while they look for the SES cause? Don't like the idea of 7-8 month old oil in there. Thanks.

Id just pull the negative side off and reset it, probably nothing to worry about. If it comes back get it checked but no need for a Dealership to get in your truck unless 100% needed...

I wouldn't pull the negative just yet. In my opinion, a code is tripped for a reason and it is probably in your best interest to find out why. Clearing it from the RAM will only mean that you'll have to wait for it to come back if you decide to go to the dealership and have it scanned.

That was my thinking too. Better safe than sorry. I was kinda worried about it sitting on the lot as long as it was. (but I got a pretty good deal on it. ) Thanks for the advice all.

Turned out to be a bad DPFE sensor. Dealer replaced it and I was rollin' again by lunch. Whew!
