04 F150 or 03 Lightning?

I'm a ford guy, but not a ford Truck guy so I really don't know which direction I am going to go in. I just sold my Navi so I'm ready asap. I would love to hear what you guys think.

depends if you wan to be like everyone else, if so get the f150.

If you want to have a rare truck, that outperforms corvettes, get the Lightning

Not to show any bias, but get the 03 Lightning!!!! With the Lightning you can still have the bed of pick-up and tow, PLUS you will have one sweet looking truck that can beat most stock sports cars.

What he said and it gets lots of looks and is just awesome to have.It is so neat haveing a vehicle that is as fast and badass as anystreet vehicle out there and it can still be used as a truck.Im not shure how my life would be without the L but we are a kinda ford family since my mom has a 02 explorer, dad has a 02 f350 and i have the 01 lightning and everyone of em is white.

We are trading our 7.3 350 in for a 6.0 350 this week since there is so much more power in the new motor.

I was in same fix as you. Get an 04 F150 or a03 L.
I went with the L, and Ill tell you why. Go read the posts at the dieselstop.com and you can see how ford screwed over everyone who bought a 2003 6.0 SD diesel. When you buy the first year of anything car or truck wise you get pooped on. The manufacturers let the buyers be the guinnea pigs on this. Sooooo, I figured the F150 not only had new drivetrain, but the whole truck was a new design.:devil

The L on the other hand was made from 99 -04 on same body and chassis. There HAVE been improvements all along on this combo. 03 has new head design for example. By 2003 ford had made millions of F150s with this body and chassis. The bugs are worked out, and should be a fairly trouble free vehicle.

Folks that want the newest of something in vehicles PAY DEARLY. Ask a 2003 SD owner when he trades in his orphaned 03 (04 diesels are different cause of the 03 troubles) You think ford will be any different with the 150?:

F150 does NOT have diesel, only SD trucks, F250-up.

It all depends on what you want and like.

1. Which body style do you like best?
2. Whats the Intended use?
3. Which interior suits you best?
4. Overall cost comparison in payments/fuel/insurance

I for one would rather own a Gen 2 L, but I crave the speed and dont like the looks of the new body style as much. I think the new f-150s are really nice though, they have a lot of nice features. (ie. quite cab, new frame design, transmission ect.)

I do agree with waiting a few years though, at least wait until the second year. A lot of issues are adressed after the first year of production....if you can hold out I would wait 2-3 years. If you want to buy something this year....I would get the Bolt for sure.
