Dodge Article In Trucking!!

You guys may have covered this already but I scrolled back a little and didnt see it so, Have any of you seen the article in this months Truckin magazine comparing the SRT with the L? From there test results it doesnt look to good for us. I'm sure a regular Joe is going to have more trouble getting that 500 hp to the ground than we do but still...it sucks especially since they end the article with the quote "Looks like SVT is going to be handing over that crown this year." !!!! Hopefully thid wont effect me anyway, I seriously doubt there is anybody in my area that can afford a truck that expensive, especially since there are only 3 L's in my town.

The last test they did on the L it ran like a 14.6 they cant drive without bags or dragging the frame.

Hopefully, the type of L owner willing to jump on one of those, is not the type that's still sucking air through the stock airbox. I think the L will remain much more modification friendly. Have you ever seen how much it cost to modify a Viper? If Dodge found some way to make that bastard hook though, we may be in trouble. I just can't even imagine trying to make my L hook with a 6-speed. I guess what I'm saying is that I don't doubt it would outrun a stock L. But who the hell has a stock L?

How in the he11 did they make the L run that slow????? The stock L's I have seen come out to the track are always in the 13's.

I just can't wait for some silly **** cowboy in one of those new Dodges to try me.

My initial impression is no, the SRT4 aint about sh#t. I saw one ot the track running in the 15's. Even if you assume they were a terrible driver, that's a long way away from an L.

The 500 HP Ram SRT-10...Is that at flywheel or RWHP?
If it were RWHP wouldn't it do better than a mid 13?

Most vehicles if not all are based on Bhp.
I also own a 345 HP C-5. Your lucky to get 290 RWHP
on a stocker.

SRT-10's are dynoing aroud 420's rwhp, with the manual tranny. my 03 "L" dynoed at 358rwhp. the SRT also has some xtra weight to cart around with it's 60rwhp advantage

Boogeyman, You guys have impressive times but maybe if your going to compare your fastest, you need to look at our fastest ETs.

2. JLP 10.4something
3. Vinnie 10.7ish
4. Don 11.0000001
5. Matt 11s on Stock Motor.

I dont know how this thread went from speaking about a Truck which is our true competition, to talking about a Hopped up Neon. The Neon will kick our azzes in the turns but other than that 90% of the Lightnings will kill the Neons prowling around on the streets. The Neon and the WRK STI are both leaps above the SVT Focus but currently the Lightning Leads the Truck pack.

Hey, no comparisons intended. I just wanted to dispell the 15 second thing before it got out of hand....

And for the record, I drive a 98 SS/T but am interested in the SRT-4 for the fun factor and the better mileage...
