how to launch an L?

The L is an automatic and i hear a lot of you talking about getting a "nice launch" . I know how to launch a manual, but how do you guys launch? Do you just power brake? if so, isnt that really bad for the tranny?

Lots will have differant answer's Flock
But you want to do whats called "Flash the Convertor"
With good slicks, you simply do a nice smokey to warm them up,
then you simple leave your foot on the brake,
and leave from an idle.

Meaning you DO NOT touch the gas pedal
You wait til it's time
Then you stomp your foot as fast and hard as you can
to the floor
and hold on of course

Believe it or not this is the one and only way I have ever
launched the Lighting, and I have never had a bad 60,
OR SPUN, (even with 6lbs of pulley and 75HP of juice)
Vid is below if you wanna see it, (2 Vids a matter of fact)
you will notice my rear tires leap off the ground on the 11.81 run,
but thats a torque issue due to the extra AND INSTANT 75HP of juice I have during the launch. My Current traction Bars
simply can't handle it. New bars will be on next year.

The only time you USUALLY see or hear of a L power braking it,
is when they have an aftermarket stall convertor

Track or street..on F1s you leave at idle. And you still can't just floor it. Even on a WELL prepped track. It takes some gentle throttle work to get out of the hole on F1s but if you get the knack for it you'd be very suprised at the results.

I netted a best of a 1.85 on F1s at the track. Equate that to the street, you're probably talking about a 2.0 - 2.1. Either way, these trucks launch suprisingly well on stock tires.

My .02.
