Trans Fluid check

I did the FTVB install and the Moroso Pan. But I can't seem to get the trans mission oil right. When I let the truck sit over night should the dip stick read in the cold section? How many quarts did you use with a FTVB and Moroso pan?

Always check your tranny fluid when hot (at operating temp). Drive the truck a few miles then, stop on even/level ground. While the truck is running, put the shift lever through each gear while you sit still there with your foot on the brake. After doing this, with truck running and in park, go out and check the tranny dip stick. By the way, you will notice tranny fluid level change ( it will need tranny fluid usually) say 50-100 miles after you do the FTVB install. Apparently it takes miles to get the fluid back in all the nooks and crannys so to speak in the tranny.

It has cold written on the dip stick, Is that when you first start it to check or before you start? I think I'm getting a inaccurate reading.

Do not check it cold. You are supposed to check it after the transmission is at operating temp. After it's warm cycle through the gears and then check it.
