Just got my valve from the "chicken coupe" today..
As for install, I also have the 4x4 pan to put on..
Is it a PITA, or something i can do in the driveway??
Anyone lookin to make a few bucks?

I put mine in over a year ago. The only thing I would do different.............Is punch a hole in the old pan, to drain the fluid. Why I thought I needed to keep the pan, I have no idea, but I made a friggin mess
Its no big deal, but I have no urge to do it anytime soon

im not in jersey, but I did the ftvb install and it was not hard. It wasnt as messy as I thought it would be either. I was working on it with a catch pan and in a basement at an oil change... Standing up helped and having power tools...
Im sure you know, but all you have to do is drop the stock pan a corner at a time, and try to let as much drain out as you can (without a drain plug) then when the pan is dropped, drop the stock valve body... Bolt the ftvb up and put the few bolts back in. Then put the new pan and filter back on. Then add tranny fluid. The install like I said was not hard. If you can, keep your money in your pocket. If you think it's to hard and you don't want to do it, I'm sure you'll find someone in Jersey that may be able to give you a hand who has done it b4. Thanks, Shane

It took me about 2 hours. I took my time. Gator's right about punching a hole in the stock pan, unless you want to keep it. I used a hammer and nail. Just be sure not to penetrate the pan too deep so you don't hit any of the trans pieces inside.
If I can do it, anyone can. Just get yourself a good set of torque wrenches and you'll be all set.

LOL @ Shane
I know what you mean about the stock parts sitting in the garage, atleast you got some use out of the tranny pan, mines just collecting dust along with the exhaust, airbox, etc
And Leeann, I was thinking of a lap dance from YOU!

i would like to not punch a hole, as when i sold my Lightning, i was able to put the stock pan back on, and keep this 4x4..
anyway, im sure i can find someone in Elizabeth to give gator a lap dance...
Looks like all i need to buy is an inch torque wrench then....
