1st time at the track results

Went to the 1/4 mile track for the first time ever. Was able to only run once cause they said I needed a helmet due to running under 14.0. I need some advice to help me get in the 12's. Here's my setup as of now, along with my track times. Let me know what I should get and do. Thanx!

well i ran last saturday a 14.98 sec 1/4 mile
with a lot of wheel spinning

If you want to get in the 12 sec buy a chip ,filter and a 6#
and you will be set
Next month i am going to order a single diablo chip and a 6#

lower your tire pressure to 23lbs., get a chip, a pulley, and for the love of God LOWER YOUR 60' TIME!!! lol

you should be getting 1.9x 60's with F1s. good luck man! traction bars wouldn't hurt either...hehe

It's gonna be tough doing it on F1s. Some guys have done it but I could never get mine to hook up. With ET Streets, I got into the high-12s and that was with a 3 lb pulley, PSP Fast Air, and a chip.

Dan, it is very possible....But not easy....It is very tricky launching the F1's with so much torque....I basically didn't figure it out until FFW at E-town last week....I literally left the line at idle every time, hit it to half throttle, and when the truck was rolling, buried it all the way....Out of my nine passes, my slowest 60' was 1.94, and my quickest 1.86....All without traction bars.....

I found the trick for a good launch (YMMV):

I roll THROUGH the water box, and pull the back tires 2 feet ahead.

Start doing your burnout, keeping the RPMs at about 3000. Count off 5 mississippi, then slowly let off the brake and roll more into the throttle. The F1's should stick on your roll out. You'll hear a chirp

I hold the RPMs at 1000-1200, and drop the hammer at the LAST yellow (shallow stage).

The other night, in COOL 50* weather, was pulling 1.8x-1.90x.

For those who say you can't get the F1's sticky, I found that even a minute after my run, I could feel the tack to the tires, and they picked up all sorts of cr@p in the parking lot (on the way back from the run).

Worked for me.
