Those are the lights I want, but some people say they won't fit while others say they will...what's the deal?

The reason they won't fit is because the holes in the back of the housing won't accept the 99/00 bulb sockets. I bought some and made that mistake already..For some reason the 01 and up Ls tail light bulb sockets are different from ours.. I have a 99 also..

Look up www.streetbeatcustoms.com . They have some similar to those for our trucks..I orders some like TIM SKELTONS.. They are bad!!

Good luck!!

Dang, that really bites. I found a guy who is selling his stock lights off of his 01 and I was planning to upgrade. I guess my 00 will not accept the ones of the 01. That sucks!!! Do the headlights and corner fit? Thanks!

headlights and corners fit, tail do not. Can't you just use the 01 bulbs?

I don't know where some get their information but....... on MY 2000 Lightning, the 01' + up Tail Lights bolted RIGHT UP w/ NO MODIFICATIONS.

The thing that will get you is the bolt holes are not as deep as the 99' & 00' tail lights. If re-using your 99' or 00' bolts you must use a spacer to take up about 1/4". If you don't you run the risk of poking through the inside of the tail light.

So if I get the 01+ bolts with the tail-lights, everything should be gravy, RIGHT? Thanks!

Wink

Like I said before, the 01 and up Headlights, the 01 and up corner lights, and the 01 and up taillights will fit on any 99 to present Lightning. As far as the bolts on the tails I just cut a little off my factory bolts and it worked great for me. They will work, trust me, the foglights on the other hand are not a direct replacement.

I just installed some of the black ones on my truck on sat.
The only thing is you dont use one of the connectors and thats the brown one. The 99's have 3 connectors to go with 3 sockets, the other tailights have just two. So you use the black and the blue(I think whatever the back up lights are).

They look great though
