Unhappy ok guys....need your help asap please read!!

well the first glitch with the truck has happened(99 lightning with 14000 miles). i pulled into 711 to get gas and switched the truck off, well everything shut down like normal except my radio kept playing. i also noticed that i can roll my windows up and down with the doors open and the key out of the ignition. its like i have the key in the igniton turned to the acc. position even when there is no key. wtf..... the "dinger" still dings without the key in the hole. please someone enlighten me

do you have an aftermarket alarm or remote car starter installed?

Have you done anything electrical to it lately? If so, go back and check your work. If not, ummmm?

The ignition switch was just forward enough to power the the radio and such. Just alittle wear from so much use. Same thing in the Tbird, just alittle annoying that but nothing big.

So much use>??? His truck has 14,000 miles on it and is only 4yrs old. Shouldn't have to be dealing with this. Glad you got it fixed Bryce, especially at no cost to you. -Mat-

My wife's f150 did the same thing...the whole mechanism got really sloppy. After another year or so, we had to have the whole thing replaced, including the lock. It was under warranty, but the service manager tried to act like it was my wife's fault. He accused her of having a large heavy keychain that continuously pulled down on the mechanism. The keychain's swinging and jiggling wore out the cylinder. It was a bunch of BS in her case, because she never had more than 4-5 keys, and abhorred big keychains. Just another great Ford dealer experience.

Hmmmmmm...... I think my windows can still actively go up and down up to 1 minute after shutting the engine off. Im going to have to check that. Are you guys saying that might be an issue?
