Name the time and place and we'll set up some cones for you to run.

I should really take Pete's advice and think of the cones as pedestrians @ the mall...

Daniel,

I don't think my L will roll over that far. I'm running the Roush kit and Hellwig anti-sway bars. Are you running the stock sway bars? Great pics by the way. I really don't understand why more L owners don't try this. IMHO this is more fun than drag racing. Flame suit on.

I set the pic of my truck going through the turn with the tires on both sides as my wall paper. Damn it looks good. AOne of the corner workers sent it to my instructor and he sent it to me. Here is a site that will take you to all the pics of my truck at TWS.

Edward, call me when you get a chance.

Tim,

Did you ever put a harnes in your truck? I really had a hard time holding myself in the seat. My arms were wore out after just a 20 minute session. I was thinking of installing a harnes and just bolting it down to the floor but if I'm reading the info correctly that could cause a compression of the spine if you were in a crash. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I still haven't gotten around to it, Jerry.

Floor mounting the shoulder belts would be a poor idea (too much belt to stretch) and would not comply with most sanctioning body rules. The only options remotely legal are (1) mounting to roll bar or harness bar, or (2) mounting to the rear cab wall with suitable reinforcing plates (4" square minimum) on the outside.

But, as others have pointed out, a racing seat will have a far greater effect than belts. Belts do not provide much in the way of lateral support. A budget racing seat is about as cheap as a quality set of belts.

Thanks Tim,

I never thought about a seat. I guess I could get a seat and only use it for track days. I assume there is a racing seat that you could change out fast without to much trouble. Any ideas on a seat that will fit the bill?

I don't get too much roll, the description that is missing for that set of shots is "exiting the outside bend of the end of the slolom with a negative camber left dip".

There were 3 dips in the two sloloms setup in this course that were both negative camber to the turn they required, I maxed the suspension travel over them every time (both front and rear bump stops).

The last one, which is in those photos, was quite a hit as you hit it at speed (60-70ish?)

He's got Roush springs, QA1 shocks, Hotchkis Swaybars.

And cone dodging is very fun.
